TRACO Power’s TSR 2 series non-isolated step-down switching regulators are a drop-in replacement for inefficient 78xx linear regulators. This series has a high efficiency of up to 96% that allows full load operation up to +67°C ambient temperature without the need for any heat-sink or forced cooling.
The TSR 2 switching regulators provide other significant features over linear regulators, such as increased output accuracy (±2%), lower standby current of 2 mA, and no external capacitors requirements. The high efficiency and low standby power consumption make these regulators an ideal solution for a wide range of battery-powered applications.
