Summary

The MAX15039 evaluation kit (EV kit) demonstrates the MAX15039 6A, 2 MHz step-down regulator with integrated switches for enterprise-server, telecommunication, computing, and networking power supply applications. The EV kit is preset for a 1.8 V output voltage at load currents up to 6 A, from a 2.9 V to 5.5 V input voltage range. A 1 MHz switching frequency and up to 95% efficiency (with the supplied components) is achieved by the EV kit.

The MAX15039 features fixed-frequency PWM mode operation with a switching frequency range of 500 kHz to 2 MHz set by an external resistor. The MAX15039 provides the option of operating in a skip mode to improve light-load efficiency. High-frequency operation allows for an all-ceramic capacitor design. The high operating frequency also allows for small-size external components.
